Confusion And Controversies Among Nigerians On The Rising Cases of Covid 19

NCDC Announces More Results As El-Rufai Tests Positive To Covid 19 Virus

Tensions and panic have increased among the people of Kaduna State after NCDC announces the result of the test carried out on the Governor of Kaduna State yesterday, which happens to be positive.

There has been hype and praises on how El-Rufai has been handling the affairs of the State especially when it comes to avoiding the spread of the Covid 19 Virus recently, and some Nigerians are already spreading rumors that the Governor already knows about his status a few days back before actually announcing to the public.

These is the more reason the Governor was bent on implementing strict measures on the State to avoid the further spread as those who had close contacts with him recently are already in isolation as we speak.

Even in self-isolation, El-Rufai has appealed to the people of Kaduna State-  "I wish to appeal to the people of Kaduna State to continue to closely observe the preventive measures already announced. It is most important that everybody should do their utmost to stay safe, stay home and stay alive".

Citizens are now skeptical and in disarray. many continue to ask when all this is going to end! At this point, some citizens who have been complaining of the "stay indoors" regulation, have been clamoring for fellow citizens to follow the social distancing principle employed by the Federal government, to the extent, people are confessing in their own words; use soldiers on us if necessary!!

Should We Give All Our Trust To NCDC?

At this point in time, it is difficult for people to have trust in NCDC and as well accept the figures being reported from time to time. Compared to Countries like China, the USA and other countries around the World, the Government of Nigeria doesn't have sufficient kits for mass testing and lacks the Manpower needed to fight the crisis. even the NCDC in question is not responding to alerts from many average Nigerians, this is why many are predicting that the numbers may be higher than results reported, if not in thousands.

A reporter on the case of the Covid 19 novel in Nigeria "Kazeem Babalola", reported yesterday in a social media tweet saying; "I think same also, the people moving around with this virus might be more than this, and they may keep on spreading it without knowing...The coming weeks shall tell truly...".

Today, another known source from our reports also claimed that the cases are probably more than 97 as claimed. In his statements, he said; "I think NCDC and government officials know about it but they are dropping the numbers casually to avoid panic. The valid question we should be asking is; how many people have been tested, I heard not up to 400 people, if that's the case, then we're in a real mess!!".

I can't really trust much news these days. So I am starting to avoid reading it. It's all super negative and I don't need to have my anxiety levels shoot through the roof.

It’s interesting to see how each country is treating the virus and that the mistrust in the government is now coming back to hurt politicians

Just make sure to stay safe, wash your hands often and social distance where possible
